Studio Profile • Independent Development

We make games we wish existed.

We're lifelong gamers who couldn't stop asking “what if?” - what if that mechanic went deeper, what if this system actually mattered, what if someone finally fixed the parts we loved but always felt unfinished? RetroRPG is where we answer those questions ourselves.

We're not a corporate studio or a polished machine - we're a small group learning as we build, chasing the same feeling that kept us up way too late growing up. Every project is an experiment, every bug teaches something, and every system exists because it felt worth doing right.

Core Values

How we build

We design by curiosity, not committee. When a feature sparks imagination, we push it as far as it can go. Every game starts as a question - and our job is to find the most satisfying answer for the player.

Studio Pillar
Depth Over Decoration

We chase systems that surprise you the tenth time you use them. A single well-built mechanic beats a dozen shallow ones. Depth is what keeps a game alive long after the credits roll.

Studio Pillar
Fair Challenge

Our games don't hold your hand, but they never lie to you either. We want difficulty that feels earned, so when you finish a quest or beat a boss, it's pride - not relief - that you feel.

Studio Pillar
Curiosity Rewarded

Exploration should matter. We hide secrets, side paths, and strange mechanics for the players who poke at the corners of the map and wonder, “What happens if I try this?”

Team

Who's building this?

A small team with shared roots and big ambitions. We divide the work, debate over balance, and celebrate when it finally feels fun. Each of us brings a different strength, but the goal is always the same - make games worth getting lost in.

Zach
Programming & Systems Design

Handles most of the backend, architecture, and gameplay systems for every project. Focused on building stable foundations where mechanics can evolve naturally instead of being bolted on. Believes every great idea deserves a clean implementation.

“We're not chasing perfection, just the version that finally feels right to play.”

Always Learning

RetroRPG isn't about chasing trends or deadlines. We're here to learn, to experiment, and to keep building the games we wish existed - alongside the players who love them. Every update, every test, every line of feedback helps shape the next world we'll lose ourselves in.
